Oregon Logging Conference Celebrates 70 Years, Announces 2008 Dates
The conference will be held Feb. 21-23, 2008, in Eugene

Eugene, Ore. – The legendary Oregon Logging Conference (OLC), celebrating its 70th year, will showcase the newest logging, construction and trucking equipment at the Lane Events Center in Eugene on Feb. 21-23, 2008.

“At this year’s conference, we’ll focus on the future of logging and how  the industry will adapt to the changing times,” says Blair Moody, 2008 OLC president. “We must continue discussing mentorship of future loggers; who’s going to sit in our equipment 10 years from now? The traditions of our logging history are important, but you can’t look at our history without thinking of the future.”

With the future in mind, the conference will feature new technology in the logging, timber and construction industries. Additionally, the conference will provide the opportunity for loggers to earn up to nine professional education credits; seminars are offered on a variety of topics such as new technology, safety practices and first aid. In honor of OLC’s 70th anniversary, some exhibitors will display antique logging equipment to commemorate the advancements made in the last century in the logging industry.
